CLOUD HOP
Bay Area’s Friendzone (a.k.a. James Laurence and Dylan Reznick) just dropped their new track “Rest” and play-counts here have been increasing exponentially. The two seasoned producers demonstrate immense skill in vocal sampling with its variations and change-ups seemingly wrapped up in a light cloud of smokey vapor, creating a bleary-eyed atmosphere led by molded melodies and hip-hop beats. Grab it over at Soundcloud and keep it on repeat.

Lee Noble - Woman in the Dunes
Submerge into the sand of all the sands that will never be touched. Listen to “Woman in the Dunes”, Lee Noble’s remembrance of Hiroshi Teshighara’s 1964 film. “Woman in the Dunes” is a preview to the many wonders of Motion Forever, a split between Noble and Ensemble Economique coming on June 20th via Hands in the Dark.
Her toes submerged into the sand. First the extravagantly fevered grains overwhelmed her under-nails, then smeared the top part where she’d made tip toes to peak into windows many times before, then cooler the grains got as they filled her arc’s, and brisker she felt as the grains crowded the remnants of her bare street walking on her heels, and colder and bleaker and more numbing as she went numb realizing the roasting sand wasn’t only sand but millions and many more millions bits of miniature grains that she’d never feel.
Witchney Houston’s “T34CH3R5” builds its frantic foundation from samples of Ciara’s “Promise” into a smorgasbord of schizophrenic, haunting, happy hardcore elements that had me reeling from start to finish. Muted staccato drums obliterate wailing, whining synths only to kowtow to its zig zagging partner. As Ciara sings, coos, and nearly purrs, “you can be my teacher, i’ll do homework” the words morph beyond recognition - looping and twittering. A marriage of the unexpected and oh so addictive.

Jeni - Boyfriend
This is actually how Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” should sound like. The “rap” parts still suck everything else is swagnificent.
Bondax - Wet Summer
More like wet crotches…
Premier: Kimbra - Settle Down (Kodak to Graph Remix)
In anticipation of Kimbra’s forthcoming album Vows, EARMILK and Warner Bros. Records have decided to challenge all the bedroom-producers to put forward their best remix of Kimbra’s chart-topping single “Settle Down.” As compensation for your work, one lucky winner (Judged by Kimbra herself) will see their creation receive an official release on Warner Bros. Records UK, accompanied by a proper servicing campaign.
After I saw this campaign I decided to send the information over to one of my favorite producers Kodak to Graph and this is what he came up with. Make you hit the like button so our boy Kodak can win.
